Basic Education: Over 580,000 Candidates Set for 2026 Exams

The Ministry of Basic Education (MINEDUB) has officially released the national examination calendar for the 2026 session. With 582,092 pupils registered nationwide, the government is shifting into high gear to ensure a seamless examination period across all ten regions.

Official 2026 Examination Timetable
The session kicks off in May with practical assessments and concludes in mid-June with the written phases for both the English and French sub-systems.

According to the official statement, the examination timetable begins with the practical sessions of the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) on May 5.

​Physical education sessions will follow from May 6 to 8, 2026. The Common Entrance Examination is scheduled for May 13, followed by the Certificat d’Études Primaires (CEP) for the Francophone sub-system of education on June 16. The written session of the FSLC will also take place on June 16, 2026.

Minedub Launches Strategic Preparations

To guarantee the integrity and smooth conduct of these exams, a high-level coordination meeting was inaugurated on April 8 in Mbankomo. The sessions, which concluded on April 10, were presided over by Dr. Vivian Asheri Kilo, Secretary of State to the Minister of Basic Education.

The key objectives of the Mbankomo meetings included ensuring logistical readiness, regional oversight and integrity.
