From April 14 to 17, 2026, the Association of Students of the Faculty of Sciences (AEFAS) hosted the Student Scientific and Cultural Days (JSCE).

This year’s theme, « Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation in a University Setting: Current Socio-Cultural Challenges and Impacts, » transformed the campus into a live incubator where academic theory met real-world application.

Held at the Esplanade of Extension 1 at the Faculty of Sciences, the exhibition tents showcased a diverse array of student-led projects spanning ICT, mathematics, and life sciences.

In the domain of Microbiology and Health, student researchers presented groundbreaking work on combating complex viral pathologies and developing sustainable biofertilizers for agriculture.

Meanwhile, the Animal Organism Biology (AOB) stand captivated visitors with conservation techniques for rare specimens, including alligators, crocodiles, and giant frogs, highlighting a deep commitment to Cameroon’s biodiversity.

Beyond the technical displays, the event emphasized the spirit of entrepreneurship through seminars, training sessions, and high-stakes competitions.

From natural juice production to advanced technological solutions for the humanitarian sector, the fair demonstrated that students are no longer just learners, but problem solvers.

The event concluded on April 17, successfully celebrating the synergy between rigorous scientific research and the vibrant cultural heritage of Cameroon.

The Student Scientific and Cultural Days are organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education, to foster the spirit of innovation in the University of Yaounde 1.
