Commonly referred to by the French term « rattrapage », these sessions serve as a vital academic safety net for students across all five fields of study at the institution

A Second Chance at Academic Success

For many, these exams represent the « last ticket » to promotion or graduation. The resit session allows students to clear outstanding credits from failed courses and ensure promotion to the next academic level. They also help students validate their degrees before the end of the cycle.

While some students find the questions similar to the main session, others face entirely new subjects and challenges.

Despite the pressure, the mood on campus remains optimistic. « I am very hopeful this time. I’ve put in the work to validate my credits in Computer Science and French, » shared Nna Gwladys, a Level 2 Journalism student. Other students also say they have hope to succeed.

With the stakes so high, the administration is taking no chances regarding academic integrity. Dr. Martin Beyala, Coordinator of Publishing and Graphic Arts and a lead examination official, emphasized that security is tight.

He says disciplinary measures are at their peak to prevent malpractice, highlighting that officials are supervising at all levels.

The road to resits began earlier this year following the main examination that held February ending. The results were published on 30th March.

Though the March results showed a high overall pass rate, the current resit session ensures that no student is left behind as the 2025-2026 academic year progresses.

Following this resit, the students will embark on the second semester which will follow the same pattern of normal sessions exams, results then resit.
