ASMAC: Journalism 1 Students Face a Second Chance

Some journalism students in full resit mood

For Level 1 students at the Advanced School of Mass Communication ASMAC, the academic journey has taken an unexpected turn.

For the first time, some students are are going to resit the first semester exams, a challenge they didn’t anticipate so early in their studies.

« I was very nervous when I learned the results were out. I thought I had passed all my courses, but I was shocked when I checked and noticed I had failed, » said Njeck Rykelle

Like many of her peers, Rykelle attributes her failure to poor marks in the Continuous Assessment which is 60%

However, some students are taking their failure in stride. « when the results came out, I was stressed, but when I validated four courses and failed just one, I felt relieved, » said Mounira Chaaibu.

She added that her failure was due to lack of attention to current news.

» The courses I wasn’t sure of, I actually passed them. It’s not easy, but i will do my best. » said Dzouala Alvine.

While resit is a second chance for students to ameliorate, they say they will perform more better to succeed
